Hi, I’m Emily

My passion for this work is rooted in my own experience with grief & loss as well as my obsession for the mind-body connection. I could go on and on about the way anatomy informs our emotional experience and vice versa. This is why I love and trust the somatic approach to psychotherapy.

I feel strongly that it would be unfair to ask you to be a client if I didn’t also know what it means to be a client. I’ve experienced many forms of therapy, starting from a young age due to my own childhood experiences. Much of it didn’t feel helpful at the time, but as I look back, I see how it saved me. Healing doesn’t always feel effective in real time.

When I got to choose my own therapist, and what I wanted to work on, is when I began to feel more agency and empowerment in my healing process. When I started studying bodywork & somatic psychotherapy is when the importance of the mind-body approach clicked for me. It’s when I realized healing and processing involves SO much more than just talking. We must also feel, and move with our embodied emotions, and honor the felt sense of our experience. We cannot just tend to the mind, we also need to heal the body and nervous system. We can trust the body to guide us in this process.

I’d love to share with you the way somatic psychotherapy can support a gentle, self paced, inquiry process -because therapy shouldn’t make you feel like you have to rush, be tough on yourself, or be perfect while you heal. I aim to help you seek the truth within yourself & create alignment with your authenticity, because when we cannot be who we are, we suffer immensely.
